Have you ever read a book that you couldn’t put down? Were you ever so engrossed with the book that you overlooked that you were hungry or needed to go to the bathroom?
I can proudly say yes and pull an all-nighter to finish it.
Through reading, one can develop a better capacity for empathy and the ability to understand others and their feelings. Reading allows me to escape into different worlds, learn new things, and gain new perspectives.
Studies have shown that reading for thirty minutes daily reduces blood pressure, heart rate and psychological distress. Reading is a great way to escape everyday stresses in a world of increased uncertainties.
